Just got into my room at the Apex Waterloo Hotel in Edinburgh and think i will have more than enough room (for a party) to see me right till Monday morning when I check out and head back south.

I am here as a guest of the Scottish Parliament and due to be speaking tomorrow at the Festival Of Politics. My part to play will be in a session connected to World Press Photo entitled 'From Revolution to Representation' from 12:30 till 13:30 Saterday the 27th. (Tomorrow as i write this).

You never know what the city might throw at you. When at a party in a posh hotel, never underestimate the cost of the drinks.

With lager at £6 a pint and a 50ml whiskey at £12.. it pays to be prepared.

A £4 coke is a lot easier to swallow if laced with lashings quality mixing malt whisky.

Note: I never normally mix my malt whisky. The coke is camouflage.

If I were to jump out of the window I'd land in a boat. If I were to run and jump out of the window I'd land in the water.
