Please excuse the phallic nature of this photo.
While in Leeds this week I was assured that marmite and gherkin was a must try combination. Is I'm not adverse to stunt-eating I thought I'd give it a try. It's not as bad as you would think but personally, it's not my first choice of snack. I was half expecting a taste bud freakout but the two strong flavours seem to blend together. I must add I am speaking as a marmite lover and if you are not.. Don't try this at home. One of my earliest memories is of sitting behind my Grans sofa eating dog biscuits. I must have been around two or three.
I'd sneak them out of the pantry by the handful. Rough sharp edged things made of who knows what.. I don't remember them ever looking this good.Wandering the fields of Northamptonshire. It's much cooler than last week.
I wonder if we will even notice the weather when we are all living in cities. I've only lived in this part of the world for the last few years but have seen no end of change as rural spaces get eaten up by housing. I'd happily live underground if it meant I still get to walk in the countryside. The next 20 years will see such an incredible increase in population worldwide. I'm not sure any of us we really get much of a choice where we live.
